by Staff Writer / Colorado Avalanche
Former Avalanche winger Valeri Kamensky became the 10th and final player honored by the Avalanche Alumni Association for the 2009-10 season on Monday prior to the Avs’ game against the Detroit Red Wings.

Kamensky won the Stanley Cup as a member of the Avalanche during the 1995-96 campaign. During his eight years with the Quebec Nordiques/Colorado Avalanche organization, Kamensky totaled 414 points (166g/248a) in 460 games, the eighth highest point total in franchise history.

He also won an Olympic gold medal in 1988 while representing the Soviet Union and was an NHL All-Star during the 1997-98 season.  The pregame ceremony included a highlight video and a team-presented painting by renowned artist Stephen Holland. All fans in attendance witnessed a ceremonial puck drop by Kamensky and received a replica copy of the painting.
