Jones' Goal Named Play Of The Week

by Colorado Avalanche / Colorado Avalanche
A David Jones goal against Anaheim, which came off a nice feed from linemate Daniel Winnik, earned Avalanche "Play of the Week" honors for the March 25-31 timeframe.

Jones' goal took home 42.65% of the vote, topping Matt Duchene's tally against Anaheim (35.29%) and Milan Hejduk's 20th goal of the season (22.06%), which came at Los Angeles.

The play now automatically qualifies for Colorado’s year-end “Play of the Year” bracket-style tournament – to be determined by Avalanche fans. Be sure to check back each Friday during the season, as three new choices for the Avalanche’s “Play of the Week” will be posted for you to vote upon.

Winnik To Jones – 3/28 @ Anaheim
After the Avalanche thwarted an Anaheim attack, Daniel Winnik and David Jones worked a two-man game that resulted in the latter’s 25th goal of the season. Jones gained control of the puck in the defensive zone and carried it all the way across the opposite blue line before giving it up to Winnik, who spun off Francois Beauchemin before giving it back to Jones for the score.
