David Jones' second short-handed goal of the season was named the Avalanche's "Play of the Week" for the Nov. 6-12 timeframe, garnering 63.76% of fan votes.
The forward's tally beat out Chris Stewart's shootout winner against Chicago (25.23%) and a Craig Anderson save on Kris Versteeg (11.01%).
The play now automatically qualifies for Colorado’s year-end “Play of the Year” bracket-style tournament – to be determined by Avalanche fans.

Jones’ Second Shorty – 11/6 vs. Chicago David Jones’ second short-handed goal of the season gave the Avs a big lift in their 4-3 shootout win over Chicago. Collecting the puck inside the Avalanche’s defensive zone, Jones raced up the left wing and held off Chicago’s Dustin Byfuglien before chipping a backhander past Antti Niemi.
