Lake Erie Monsters center T.J. Hensick has been named to the PlanetUSA AHL All-Star roster for the 2008 AHL All-Star Classic presented by Reebok. The AHL All-Star Classic will be played Monday, Jan. 28 at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena in Binghamton, N.Y.
Hensick, Colorado’s third-round choice (88th overall) in the 2005 Entry Draft, has recorded 15 points (5g/10a) in 22 games with the Monsters, including a seven-game point streak from November 10-23 (3g/6a).
During two stints with the Avalanche this season, Hensick recorded three points (1g/2a) in 15 games.
Hensick registered 69 points (23g/46a) in 41 games during his senior season at the University of Michigan last year, earning him the Central Collegiate Hockey Association scoring title. In addition to being a Hobey Baker Award finalist, Hensick was also consensus first-team All-American and was named College Hockey News’ Player of the Year for 2006-07. He led the country in assists, assists-per-game (1.12) and points per game (1.68) in his final campaign with the Wolverines.
