ColoradoAvalanche.com takes you to Quebec City, Quebec, to follow the Colorado Avalanche peewee hockey team at the 57th annual Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament.
After a few days of practice, exhibition games—in which the Avalanche peewees went 1-1-1—and seeing more of the city, the kids faced their next round of play in the actual tournament itself.
The Avalanche peewees played in their second game of the competition on Friday at the Videotron Centre, falling 7-1 to the Chicoutimi Sagueneens team. The defeat eliminated the squad from the tournament, and the Sagueneens went on to win the AA bracket with victories over the Rimouski Oceanic (2-0), LSA Select Suisse Romande (4-3) and the Val-d'Or Foreurs (3-1).
One of the highlights of the for the kids week was a snowy outdoor practice at a local school. The Avalanche peewees got to skate in the elements while hockey fans looked on, soaking in the surroundings while in Canada for the event.
