-The Belleville Bulls have taken a 3-1 series lead over the Oshawa Generals in the Rogers Eastern Conference Championship series. Belleville defenseman Nigel Williams was held pointless but posted a +1 rating in the first two games of the series, both of which were won by the Bulls. Oshawa came back with a 2-1 victory in Monday’s Game 4, setting up Wednesday’s pivotal Game 5.

The No. 4 Johnstown Chiefs – Colorado’s ECHL affiliate – were ousted from the Kelly Cup Playoffs in the North Division Semifinals by the No. 1 Cincinnati Cyclones. Cincinnati topped Johnstown by a 3-2 count on Wednesday to earn a four-game sweep.

Johnstown’s postseason roster included two Avalanche draft picks (Ray Macias and Codey Burki) as well as four other players who attended Colorado’s rookie camp and/or training camp in September (Brandon Straub, Wes O’Neill, Andrew Penner and Kenny Roche).

-Paul Carey and the Indiana Ice were eliminated from the USHL’s Clark Cup Playoffs in four games by the Chicago Steel. Carey totaled one goal and two assists in Indiana’s four postseason contests.

-The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders were also dispatched from the Clark Cup Playoffs, dropping three straight contests to the Waterloo Black Hawks. Avs prospect Kent Patterson did not see any action in the series.
