Burgundy/White Game Preview

by Aaron Lopez / Colorado Avalanche
The Colorado Avalanche will contest its annual Burgundy/White Game tonight at 1STBANK Center in Broomfield, Colo., with puck drop scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

This year marks the first time that the Burgundy/White Game will be played in Broomfield.  The annual contest has previously taken place in Denver and Colorado Springs.

The Burgundy/White Game features all Avalanche players competing in a three-period, intra-squad scrimmage.  Fans in attendance will also have the opportunity to watch a shootout at the end of regulation regardless of the score.

All-Time Series
Team Burgundy leads the all-time series over Team White, 7-3. However, after Team Burgundy won seven of the first eight matchups, Team White has come out victorious in each of the last two meetings. In 2008, Team White blanked Team Burgundy by a 9-0 count. During last year’s contest at Cadet Ice Arena, Paul Stastny scored the lone goal in the shootout to propel Team White to a 3-2 triumph.
