A flurry of late saves by netminder Peter Budaj took home Avalanche "Play of the Week" honors for the Dec. 25-31 timeframe.
Budaj's performance, which earned 43.46% of the vote, beat out Ryan O'Reilly's game-winning goal against Ottawa (35.00%) and Craig Anderson's snow angel save (21.54%), which also came against the Senators.
The play now automatically qualifies for Colorado’s year-end “Play of the Year” bracket-style tournament – to be determined by Avalanche fans. Be sure to check back each Friday during the season, as three new choices for the Avalanche’s “Play of the Week” will be posted for you to vote upon.
