Avs Better Halves Diaper Drive

by Staff Writer / Colorado Avalanche
Kim Vaage (David Jones) and staff members from The Gathering Place were among the many participants in the 2011 Avs Better Halves Diaper Drive

Prior to the Avalanche’s game versus the Calgary Flames game on February 14, the Avs Better Halves were stationed at all Pepsi Center entrances to collect items and cash donations to benefit children in need at The Gathering Place.

The 2011 Avs Better Halves Diaper Drive raised 5,758 diapers, 6,140 wipes and $2,510.61 in cash to benefit The Gathering Place.

The Gathering Place supports women and children experiencing homelessness and poverty by providing a safe daytime refuge and resources for self-sufficiency. As Denver’s only daytime drop-in center for women and children in need of safety, opportunity and acceptance, The Gathering Place serves an average of 360 women and children every day.

2011 Diaper Drive Partners included physicians and employees of HealthONE, as well as Huggies For Hockey and their Every Little Bottom campaign.
