Avalanche Play of the Week - Nov. 13-19

by - Official Site of the Colorado Avalanche / Colorado Avalanche is asking for your help in determining the Avalanche's "Play of the Week" each week during the regular season. At the end of the year, a bracket-style tournament will be held to determine, via fan voting, the Avalanche's "Play of the Year."

Goals by Ryan Wilson, Cody McLeod and Milan Hejduk are this week's nominees

Voting ends on Monday, Nov. 23 at 3:00 p.m. MT, so be sure to cast your ballot today!

Wilson’s First Goal – 11/17 @ Calgary
Following a nice display of cycling behind the Calgary net and a scramble just outside Miikka Kiprusoff’s crease, defenseman Ryan Wilson spotted a loose puck, pinched in and threw a backhander into the net for his first career NHL goal.

McLeod’s One-Timer – 11/17 @ Calgary
With Calgary making a line change, Avalanche defenseman Ryan Wilson threw a pass from his own end all the way down to Paul Stastny at the opposite blue line. After gaining the offensive zone, Stastny fed a pass into the middle, where a cutting Cody McLeod one-timed it past Miikka Kiprusoff.

Hejduk Adjusts – 11/18 @ Edmonton
The Avalanche and Oilers were scoreless until Milan Hejduk netted this four-on-four tally. From the blue line, defenseman Tom Preissing threw a pass to Hejduk, who was right in front of Edmonton’s net. With his back to the goal, the veteran made a quick adjustment and essentially passed the puck to himself in a better position before netting his ninth goal of the season.
