Winnik Down, But Not Out – 12/31 @ Calgary
The Avs were trailing Calgary by a 3-0 score and T.J. Galiardi had just been sent to the penalty box when Daniel Winnik breathed some life into the team. Right after the faceoff following Galiardi’s penalty, Ryan O’Reilly fired the puck down the ice, where Winnik caught up with it. Despite being mugged by Mark Giordano on the play, Winnik was able to score a short-handed goal while falling to the ice.

Gali Airs It Out – 1/4 vs. Buffalo
T.J. Galiardi got creative when setting up a Daniel Winnik goal. After the Avs fought off a Buffalo attack, Galiardi took a loose puck and threw a long pass through the air to Winnik – going all the way from Colorado’s defensive zone to the opposite blue line. Winnik took care of the rest, knocking the feed down with his glove and beating Sabres goalie Ryan Miller with a wrist shot.

Jones Ends It In OT – 1/4 vs Buffalo
David Jones played the role of hero against Buffalo when he netted his first career overtime goal. Tomas Fleischmann took a pass from Ryan Wilson at the blue line, carried the puck into the zone and baited defenseman Shaone Morrisonn into dropping to the ice. Fleischmann then skated around the prone blueliner and fed Jones, who one-timed it past Ryan Miller for the game-winning goal.
