by - Official Site of the Colorado Avalanche / Colorado Avalanche
Let your voice be heard in the final "Play of the Week" contest of the regular season.

A pair of saves by Peter Budaj and a stop by Andrew Raycroft are the nominees for the April 10-12 timeframe. Voting will remain open until Friday, April 17 at 12:00 p.m. MT.

Next week, voting for the Avalanche's "Play of the Year" will open with a bracket-style tournament.

Budaj Stops Edler – 4/11 vs. Vancouver
On a Vancouver power play, Pavol Demitra shuttled a quick pass to Alexander Edler, who unleashed a one-timer from low in the right faceoff circle. However, Peter Budaj saw the play developing, made a good push to his left and was in position to stop the attempt.

Budaj Hugs the Post – 4/11 vs. Vancouver
Peter Budaj clung to his goal post to keep the Canucks off the scoreboard in the third period of their April 11 matchup. Budaj made a nice save on an Alex Burrows wraparound attempt and also foiled Burrrows’ rebound chance by stacking his pads.

Rayzor Prevents Shorty – 4/12 vs. St. Louis
With the Avalanche on a power play, Blues forward David Backes found himself on a breakaway against Andrew Raycroft. The St. Louis winger went to his backhand, but Raycroft got enough of the shot to prevent a short-handed goal.
