Avalanche Play Of The Week: April 1-7

by Colorado Avalanche / Colorado Avalanche
ColoradoAvalanche.com is again asking for your help in determining the Avalanche's "Play of the Week" each week during the regular season. At the end of the year, a bracket-style tournament will be held to determine, via fan voting, the Avalanche's "Play of the Year."

Goals by Ryan O'Reilly, Kevin Porter and Mark Olver are nominated this week.

Voting ends on Monday, April 11 at 3:00 p.m. MT, so be sure to cast your ballot today!

O’Reilly Leads The Way – 4/1 @ Phoenix
Ryan O’Reilly put the team on his back against Phoenix, scoring the game-tying goal late in regulation and then netting the shootout winner. On his shootout attempt, O’Reilly picked up speed and came straight at Phoenix goalie Ilya Bryzgalov before snapping a shot between the netminder’s legs.

Porter Bests Halak – 4/5 @ St. Louis
The Avs were down a goal against the Blues when Kevin Porter netted his 14th tally of the season. After collecting a pass from Matt Duchene behind the Avalanche net, rookie Mark Olver slid a pass to Porter in the low slot. Porter then went forehand to backhand to beat St. Louis netminder Jaroslav Halak.

Olver Knocks One Home – 4/7 @ Dallas
Mark Olver scored the second goal of his rookie season after some nice work by his teammates. Matt Duchene began the play by making a fancy move to get around Karlis Skrastins and then threaded a cross-ice pass to Ryan Wilson. The defenseman then threw a centering feed in front, where Olver tipped it home.
