This will mark Sturm’s third Olympic Games having represented Germany at the 1998 and 2002 Olympics. This would have been his fourth Olympic games, but Sturm, who was set to be captain in 2006, had to withdraw due to injury.
He has represented Germany in one World Junior Championship (1995), three World Championships (1997, 2001 and 2008) and one World Cup (2004).
