NEW YORK / TORONTO - Clinton, New York, the winner of Kraft Hockeyville™ USA 2018, will host the Buffalo Sabres® and Columbus Blue Jackets® NHL preseason game on September 25, 2018, Kraft Heinz, the National Hockey League (NHL®) and the National Hockey League Players' Association (NHLPA) announced today. The central New York historic village earned its designation as this year's most spirited hockey community in America, $150,000 in rink upgrades and the opportunity to host the NHL matchup after amassing the most votes in the online Kraft Hockeyville USA™ 2018 contest.

The Buffalo Sabres have the No. 1 pick in the 2018 NHL Draft after winning the NHL Draft Lottery on Saturday.

The Carolina Hurricanes will pick No. 2, and the Montreal Canadiens will pick No. 3.

NHL Draft Lottery will determine first three teams to pick

Sabres own best odds of winning top selection; Sweden-born defenseman Dahlin projected as No. 1 choice

Rasmus Dahlin, a defenseman projected to be the No. 1 pick in the 2018 NHL Draft, is likely to learn his destination when the NHL Draft Lottery is held Saturday.

The drawing will assign the first three teams to pick at the draft, which will be held June 22-23 in Dallas. There will be separate drawings to determine the teams that will pick No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3, and the 12 teams not selected in the lottery will be assigned selections Nos. 4-15 in inverse order of regular-season points.

Barkov, William Karlsson, O'Reilly named Lady Byng finalists

Trophy honoring sportsmanship, skill will be presented at NHL Awards on June 20

NEW YORK -- Florida Panthers center Aleksander Barkov, Vegas Golden Knights center William Karlsson and Buffalo Sabres center Ryan O'Reilly are the three finalists for the 2017-18 Lady Byng Memorial Trophy, awarded "to the player adjudged to have exhibited the best type of sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct combined with a high standard of playing ability," the National Hockey League announced today. 

Members of the Professional Hockey Writers Association submitted ballots for the Lady Byng Trophy at the conclusion of the regular season, with the top three vote-getters designated as finalists. The winner will be announced Wednesday, June 20, during the 2018 NHL Awards™ presented by Hulu at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

Aleksander Barkov (Florida Panthers), William Karlsson (Vegas Golden Knights) and Ryan O'Reilly (Buffalo Sabres) were named finalists for the Lady Byng Trophy on Friday. The award is given annually to the player voted to best combine sportsmanship, gentlemanly conduct and ability.

The winner will be announced at the 2018 NHL Awards presented by Hulu at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on June 20.

BUFFALO -- Buffalo Sabres general manager Jason Botterill was honest, frustrated and angry during his end-of-season press conference Wednesday, and vowed changes will be made after the Sabres finished with the worst record in the NHL this season.

Botterill made it crystal clear Buffalo's 25-45-12 record (62 points) was not acceptable.
