How long is a hockey game?
A standard hockey game is 60 minutes long, split into three 20-minute periods.
How many players are on the ice?
Each team has 6 players on the ice at a time:
- 3 Forwards
- 2 Defensemen
- 1 Goalie
What is icing?
Icing happens when a player shoots the puck from behind the center red line all the way past the opponent’s goal line without anyone touching it.
What is offsides?
When a player enters the offensive zone before the puck does.
What is a power play?
A power play occurs when a penalty is called against the opposing team, and one or more players are sent to the penalty box, giving the team a man advantage for the duration of the penalty.
