Girls Hockey

It’s Her Time for Hockey!

We offer three (3) girls-only recreational programs, designed to create a fun and supportive space for girls to play, grow, and thrive on the ice. Explore the steps below to find the perfect Junior Rangers program for her hockey journey!

Step 1: Girls Try Hockey For Free

Girls Try Hockey for Free is designed for girls with little or no prior skating experience, open for ages 5-12. These FREE 1-day sessions will take place at our community rink partners in the tri-state area, on select dates in October. These clinics are run by our Rangers Hockey Development team, and will feature professional female hockey players to teach girls the basics of hockey! These sessions include free rental skates and loaner equipment, and a post-skate meet & greet with our talent onsite. The program is limited to 65 participants and space is filled by a first-come, first-serve basis. Participants will also be able to register for our All-Girls Learn to Play or Girls Hockey League programs on site!

There are currently no Girls Try Hockey for Free events scheduled.

Step 2: Girls Learn to Play

Getting started in hockey has never been easier or more convenient! This introductory program will teach your child the basic skills of skating, stick-handling, passing, and shooting through ten (10) 1-hour lessons. In addition, your player will learn the importance of hard work, teamwork and sportsmanship. Best of all, your child's registration also includes a FREE brand-new set of head-to-toe CCM hockey equipment, custom fitted by our partners at Pure Hockey. Past participants are welcome to join Learn to Play for another season, or all three! However, you will not receive a set of equipment if you have participated in the program before.

This all-girls league provides a supportive and empowering environment for players to build confidence, develop life skills, and grow both on and off the ice.

Led by the Rangers Hockey Development Team, the league features two 10-week seasons, each including:

  • One practice per week at your home rink
  • One game each weekend, either at your home rink or an away rink within the Tri-State Area

Whether your player is new to the game or building on existing skills, the Junior Rangers Girls Hockey League offers a fun, team-focused experience that gives girls a space to thrive in hockey.
