The Ice Crew is expanding to include the Hockey Development Team! The LA Kings are looking for the most outgoing, energetic, and charismatic Kings fans who can lead the crowd at games and attend community events as hockey coaches and promotional team members. Whether you want to be in the stands interacting with the fans or in the community teaching young hockey players, we want you to be part of the team! Please read the requirements for each position and select the appropriate registration link. All participants must pre-register online and must be at least 18 years old.

Our Teams

Hockey Development Team

•Advanced skating level

•Hockey coaches to facilitate clinics in the community at schools, rinks, parks, and charity events

Promotional Team

•Assist with both on-ice and off-ice promotions during games

•Brand Ambassador for game days and community events

•Skating is a PLUS and is not mandatory

The Ice Crew is made up of two different co-ed teams. One team is Hockey Development, and the other is the Promotional Team. If you are a Hockey Development Team member, you will primarily be coaching hockey in the community at schools, rinks, parks, and charity events. On gamedays, you will be responsible for ice maintenance (scraping) and assist with on-ice activities.

If you are a Promotional Team member, you will be a brand ambassador for gamedays assisting with on and off ice contests, promotions (t-shirt tosses, ticket upgrades, prize giveaways etc.) At community events, you will represent the LA Kings organization through mobile marketing and non-profit/charity events.

An Ice Crew member is the most outgoing, energetic, and charismatic Kings fan who can lead the crowd at games and attend community events as hockey coaches and promotional team members. We are looking for individuals who will represent the LA Kings organization with the utmost professionalism and positive attitude. Strong teamwork skills, communication, and reliability are key for this role.

If you are trying out for the Promotional Team - NO

Promotional Team members are not required to skate but may be included in skating promotions at home games and events if they are cleared during the skating evaluation portion of the tryout.

 

If you are trying out for the Hockey Development Team - YES

Hockey Development Team members are advanced level skaters and will participate in ice maintenance (scraping) during home games, camos, clinics, and learn to skate programs.

Hockey Development Team - After check-in, you will participate in an on-ice workshop including power skating, a simulated on-ice camp, followed up by interviews.

Promotional Team - If you are participating in the skating evaluation, please note the appropriate check-in time from 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM and then the actual on-ice evaluation starting at 9:00 AM. Then ALL on and off ice participants will join for the off-ice tryouts which will consist of two rounds. The first round will simulate in-arena activities that will highlight your individual personalities. The second round will be more improv exercises. All finalists need to be available on Sunday, July 31st for small group interviews. Specific timeslots will be given at the end of the day on July 30th.

 

Yes

Athletic attire or track suit with comfortable athletic shoes. Please bring a warm jacket to wear while waiting off-ice for. If you are trying out for Hockey Development or participating in the Promotional on-ice skating evaluation, please bring your own skates. Please note that we prefer that you wear hockey skates for the on-ice evaluation. Hockey skates are required to wear in-arena. Hockey Development participants will also need to bring your own stick, gloves, and helmet.

Everyone should come groomed as if you are attending a nice professional event. Please style your hair down. Ladies, please come with clean, fresh "on-camera" make-up that compliments your individual look. Gentlemen, please come clean shaven and/or groomed facial hair - think "on-camera" look as well.

Yes. All employees and other persons who enter or work from our offices must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 unless an accommodation for a disability or sincerely held religious belief has been approved. For more information about our policy, you will be able to discuss with Human Resources.

No. Our auditions are closed to the public.

No. It is a part-time job. Being a member of the Ice Crew will require a flexible schedule as well as a commitment to being available for 80% of all home games and 75% of all appearances. You will not work all games and appearances that you are available for. Management assigns games and appearances on a rotation to keep it as even and fair as possible. The more you are available, the more likely you are to be scheduled.
