EISERMAN POTS TWO GOALS

Cole Eiserman picked up right where he left off as an offensive threat, putting up a pair of tallies for the BU Terriers in Saturday’s 4-2 win over LIU.

Eiserman’s offense bookended the scoring in the victory, as the 20th overall pick in the 2024 NHL Draft lit the lamp on the power play at the 5:54 mark of the first period, ripping a shot from the left dot. The winger struck again with under five minutes remaining in the contest for his second goal of the game.

Eiserman put up a team-leading 25 goals last season which also led all NCAA freshmen.

AITCHESON NAMED OHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Kashawn Aitcheson’s season with the Barrie Colts is off to a booming start.

Aitcheson was named OHL Player of the Week after he exploded with six points (5G, 1A) in his last three games. He’s up to eight points on the season (5G, 3A) through six games and his five goals lead all OHL defensemen.

The 17th-overall pick in the 2025 NHL Draft put up back-to-back, multi-goal games, most recently scoring twice in Sunday’s 6-5 shootout win over the Niagara IceDogs. Aitcheson powered his team in the comeback effort, striking on the power play before adding another goal minutes later to cut the deficit to 5-4 before the Colts pulled off the win in the shootout.

Aitcheson was named co-captain of the Colts for the 2025-26 campaign alongside Utah Mammoths prospect Cole Beaudoin. Aitcheson, who turned 19 on Sept. 21, has 109 points (40G, 69A) through 157 career games with the Colts in parts of four seasons.

KVASNICKA NAMED WHL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Jacob Kvasnicka is off to a hot start in his rookie season in the Western Hockey League.

The Islanders’ 2025 seventh-round pick (202nd overall) was named WHL Rookie of the Week for the week ending on Oct. 5, the league announced on Monday.

The 18-year-old winger racked up seven points (3G, 4A) in three games over the weekend for the Penticton Vees, including a four-point performance (1G, 3A) in a 10-4 win over the Seattle Thunderbirds on Saturday.

Kvasnicka leads the Vees in scoring with 10 points (4G, 6A) through seven games.
