ROMANO RIDING THREE-GAME POINT STREAK 

Luca Romano has recorded a point in each of his first three games (1G, 2A) since returning to the Kitchener Rangers of the Ontario Hockey League.  

Romano scored a late power-play goal in a 4-3 loss on Friday as Kitchener’s comeback bid fell just short to Erie. The Rangers got some revenge in a rematch the next night, as Romano had the primary helper on a last-minute power-play goal to force OT in a 4-3 comeback win.

Romano rounded out his weekend with a primary assist on Tanner Lam’s shorthanded game-winner in a 6-3 win over Kingston.  

The Islanders’ 2025 third-round pick (74th overall) is entering his fourth season with Kitchener. Romano will serve as an alternate captain with the team this season.

GAMZIN WITH TWO SHUTOUTS SO FAR THIS SEASON

Dmitry Gamzin has recorded two clean sheets across six games this season in goal for CSKA Moscow of the KHL. The goalminder has recorded a 2-3-1 record, boasting a 1.99 goals against average and .898 save percentage.

Gamzin recorded a 19-save shutout on September 9 against HC Sochi and tallied his second clean sheet on September 25 against Lada Togliatti in a 3-0 win.

On September 21, Gamzin helped lift CSKA to a 4-3 shootout victory, stopping all three shootout attempts. The highlight of the night was Gamzin’s stick save against Anthony Camara, throwing out his stick as Camara tried to dangle one in at the goal line during the shootout.

Gamzin was selected in the fourth round (115^th overall) of the 2024 Draft by the New York Islanders. The 23-year-old stands at 6'3'' and 174 lbs and is entering his fifth KHL season with CSKA.

MATYUK'S TWO-POINT GAME

Artyom Matyuk is off to a hot start for Chaika Nizhny Novgorod of the MHL, tallying a two-point game against Tolpar Ufa.

Matyuk helped lift Chaika to a 5-1 victory over Tolpar Ufa behind a two-point (1G,1A) night. His goal in the contest gave Chaika a 3-0 advantage.

The Islanders selected Matyuk 173^rd overall in the 2026 Draft. The 6'0'' 165 lbs. forward was the first forward the Islanders selected in this past draft.

This season, Matyuk has recorded three points (2G,1A) across the first six games of the season.
