EISERMAN NETS GAME-WINNER OVER CORNELL

Cole Eiserman came up big on a big stage, netting the game-winning goal for BU in a 2-1 win against Cornell at Madison Square Garden on Saturday.

The 19-year-old winger snapped his four-game scoring drought with a third period tally on Saturday. He corralled a bouncing puck along the boards and then ripped a shot from a tight angle on the right wing, squeezing it past Cornell goaltender Alex Cournoyer at the 5:24 mark of the period.

The Islanders’ 2024 first-round pick (20th overall) now has seven goals of the season, tying him with Cole Hutson for most on the team despite playing four fewer games. Eiserman sidelined for four games with a lower-body injury and made his return to action on Nov. 15.

Eiserman also notched an assist on fellow Isles prospect Kamil Bednarik’s power-play goal in the first period, which kicked off the scoring for BU.

On the other side of the ice for Cornell was Xavier Veilleux, who the Islanders drafted in the sixth round in 2024 (179th overall). The defenseman recorded three shots on goal and a blocked shot in the contest.

AITCHESON PUTS TOGETHER THREE-POINT NIGHT

Kashawn Aitcheson had a three-point night, scoring two goals and recording an assist for the Barrie Colts in Friday’s 6-3 loss to the Sudbury Wolves.

Both of his goals came on the power-play, which established a career-high 11 power-play goals, surpassing his nine PPGs last season. The 19-year-old's first tally was a one-time blast from the right circle 10:38 into the middle frame.

His productive outing extended his point streak to 11 games, where he recorded 19 points (12G, 7A) over that span. It also marked his fourth three-point game of the season and fifth multi-goal game. Aitcheson recorded eight power-play goals in the month of November and towers the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) with 11 PPGs, while his 18 goals lead all defensemen.

The Islanders 2025 first-round pick (17th overall) is now up to 30 points (18G, 12A) in 24 games played in the 2025-26 campaign.

KVASNICKA CONTINUES TO SCORE

Jacob Kvasnicka is riding a three-game goal streak, leading the Penticton Vees of the Western Hockey League (WHL) with 30 points in his first season with the team.

The 18-year-old right winger tallied two points (1G, 1A) in the Vees 3-2 loss in a shootout against the Vancouver Giants on Friday. Kvasnicka got Penticton on the board at the 7:17 mark in the third period. He found himself at the doorstep when he found the puck off a rebound, roofing it over the pads of Giants goalie Kelton Pyne.

Kvasnicka was drafted by the Islanders in the seventh round (202nd overall) of the 2025 NHL Draft.

THREE ISLES PROSPECTS MAKE TEAM USA'S PRELIMINARY WJC ROSTER

USA Hockey announced on Monday that Cole Eiserman, Kamil Bednarik and Jacob Kvasnicka have been added to their preliminary roster for the 2026 IIHF World Junior Championship.

Eiserman, who won gold with Team USA last season, is vying to make a second consecutive trip to the tournament, while Bednarik and Kvasnicka are competing to make their debut on an international stage.

They'll report to training camp in Duluth, Minnesota, from Dec. 15-23.
