How old do I have to be to attend auditions?

You must be at least 18 years old by August 9, 2026 and possess a valid ID

Who are the Energy Team?

The Energy Team serves as the face of fan engagement for Isles Nation. Team members interact directly with fans, execute promotional activations, assist with sponsor integrations, participate in entertainment elements, and help create an energetic atmosphere throughout UBS Arena and community events.

What is the general timeline for tryouts?

What can I expect at tryouts?

Auditions are designed to evaluate personality, energy, athleticism, crowd engagement ability, professionalism, and overall fit for the New York Islanders brand. 

Candidates may participate in: 

  • Group warmups/workouts 
  • Crowd engagement exercises 
  • T-shirt toss and fan interaction simulations 
  • Camera presence evaluations 
  • Improvisation/skits 
  • Special skills/movement demonstrations 
  • Group panel interviews
Do I have to apply online to attend tryouts?

Yes. All candidates must complete the online application and submit all required materials prior to auditions. Incomplete submissions will not be considered.

What should I wear?
  • New York Islanders colored athletic apparel (Blue & Orange) 
    • Bottoms may be leggings, shorts, or joggers (no jeans) 
    • Refrain from heavily logoed attire or distracting patterns 
  • Sneakers 
  • No Jackets
How should I wear my hair and make-up?
  • Hair and make up should be camera-ready (appearance for photography, filming, and live performance/activations) 
  • Facial hair should be clean and groomed 

We are looking for candidates who present themselves confidently and authentically while representing the New York Islanders brand.

What do I need to bring?

Please bring: 

  • Valid photo ID 
  • Water/snacks 
  • Sneakers/athletic shoes 
  • Positive attitude and high energy
Is being part of the Energy Team a full-time job? What is the time commitment?

No. The Energy Team positions are part-time seasonal roles.  

Team members are expected to: 

  • Attend rehearsals 
  • Work the majority of Islanders home games 
  • Participate in community appearances and promotional events 
  • Be available for weeknight, weekend, and potential playoff games 
  • Arrive approximately three hours prior to game time 
  • A flexible schedule is strongly recommended.
Do Energy Team members get paid?

Yes. Energy Team members are part-time, seasonal employees paid an hourly rate.
