Flyers Charities is set to unveil the completion of their 2020 Building Hope for Kids project, where a newly-renovated home will be presented to the Lucaciu family, whose two year old daughter, Alex, is battling cancer.

Building Hope for Kids is a long-standing partnership of eight years with Michael's Way, St. Christopher's Hospital for Children and Flyers Charities. Michael's Way a local nonprofit whose mission is to improve the lives of children with pediatric cancer. Through the program, and with the generosity of Fastrack Construction, a family home of a child fighting cancer is completely renovated.

This year, Flyers Charities adopted the family of two-year old Alexandra, who was diagnosed with Pre-B Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia before her second birthday. Alexandra was admitted to the ICU on August 8, 2019 and started on an intensive chemotherapy protocol. Her treatment will last approximately three years with intensive medical intervention.
Since adopting the Lucaciu family, including parents Michael and Andreia, and brother Victor, Flyers Charities and Flyers wives and girlfriends have helped ease the family's journey alongside Alex by gifting a full trees-worth of Christmas gifts and working to redesign the home's interior to create a fresh and functional space.
In February, Ashely Homestore welcomed the wives and girlfriends to select brand new furniture for the Lucaciu's home. Their shopping list included new mattresses, living room furniture, and playroom accessories for the family's two kids. Additionally, the group selected paint courtesy of Sherwin-Williams and décor items for Alex's bedroom, among other finishing touches.
The collective effort of all aforementioned groups will culminate in a grand reveal on Friday, March 6. The family will be welcomed by family, friends, neighbors and members of the Flyers team and staff to celebrate their new home.
