FEATURED RESCUE

As part of our Hockey & Hounds initiative, the Philadelphia Flyers are proud to feature an adoptable dog each month from one of our two incredible partner organizations: the Pennsylvania SPCA (PSPCA) and the Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society (PAWS). Through this partnership, we aim to shine a spotlight on dogs in need of loving homes by helping connect them with caring families in our community. Both PAWS and PSPCA work tirelessly to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals in need, and the Flyers are honored to support their life-saving efforts.

Each month throughout the season, the Flyers will feature a specially selected adoptable dog from either PSPCA or PAWS across the team’s social media channels, website, and in select in-game promotions. These featured pups will receive the star treatment they deserve — complete with adorable photos, fun facts, and the chance to meet their future forever families.

Meet Bubba!

Bubba is a 2-3 year old pup who is looking for a forever home. He is a joyful, affectionate lovebug who thrives on being close to his people—if there’s a lap nearby, he’ll happily curl up in it! He’s been doing great in foster care, settling into routine and working on his leash manners. He can be a little enthusiastic when greeting new friends, but he’s eager to please, food-motivated, house trained, and crate trained (often putting himself to bed for naps).

After arriving at PAWS, Bubba was diagnosed with congenital heart defects. He currently has no signs of heart failure and remains bright and happy, though his condition may impact his long-term prognosis. His future family will need to monitor his breathing, avoid intense exercise, and continue his special diet. If you’re open to giving a loving, special dog the home he deserves, Bubba would be so lucky to meet you!

Featured Rescue Organizations

The Pennsylvania SPCA (PSPCA)

The Pennsylvania SPCA rescues animals from cruelty and neglect, rehabilitates them medically and behaviorally, and places them with new, loving families. More than 150 years after their founding, the PSPCA is the state's leading animal welfare organization. Headquartered in North Philadelphia, they have two regional locations, the Central PA Center at Danville and the Lancaster Center

Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society (PAWS)

PAWS' mission is to make Philadelphia a no-kill city where every savable pet is guaranteed a home. As the city's largest rescue partner and provider of affordable, basic veterinary care, PAWS saves and finds loving homes for thousands of homeless animals each year, and prevents thousands more from entering shelters in the first place by enabling families to care for and keep their cherished pets.
