FEATURED RESCUE

As part of our Hockey & Hounds initiative, the Philadelphia Flyers are proud to feature an adoptable dog each month from one of our two incredible partner organizations: the Pennsylvania SPCA (PSPCA) and the Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society (PAWS). Through this partnership, we aim to shine a spotlight on dogs in need of loving homes by helping connect them with caring families in our community. Both PAWS and PSPCA work tirelessly to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals in need, and the Flyers are honored to support their life-saving efforts.

Each month throughout the season, the Flyers will feature a specially selected adoptable dog from either PSPCA or PAWS across the team’s social media channels, website, and in select in-game promotions. These featured pups will receive the star treatment they deserve — complete with adorable photos, fun facts, and the chance to meet their future forever families.

Meet Johnny Cash!

Johnny has been in foster care for over 18 months and would love a forever home to call his own. Johnny is a sensitive guy, but once he feels comfortable, he’s a total homebody with a silly, endearing side. He enjoys slow mornings, familiar walks, cozy evenings on the couch, and especially loves having a dog friend to pal around with. He’s also a big fan of snuggling anything soft he can get his paws on!

He may need time to warm up in new situations, but Johnny isn’t starting from scratch. He knows routines, understands how to settle at home, and thrives in a calm, predictable environment. Johnny may need a special fit, but he’s already shown just how great he can be as a companion. If you can picture him saving you a spot on the couch, sharing your snacks, and sharing all of life's quiet moments, he might be your perfect match!

Featured Rescue Organizations

The Pennsylvania SPCA (PSPCA)

The Pennsylvania SPCA rescues animals from cruelty and neglect, rehabilitates them medically and behaviorally, and places them with new, loving families. More than 150 years after their founding, the PSPCA is the state's leading animal welfare organization. Headquartered in North Philadelphia, they have two regional locations, the Central PA Center at Danville and the Lancaster Center

Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society (PAWS)

PAWS' mission is to make Philadelphia a no-kill city where every savable pet is guaranteed a home. As the city's largest rescue partner and provider of affordable, basic veterinary care, PAWS saves and finds loving homes for thousands of homeless animals each year, and prevents thousands more from entering shelters in the first place by enabling families to care for and keep their cherished pets.
