Newark, NJ - The New Jersey Devils today signed Michael McLeod, its 2016 first-round selection (12th overall), to a three-year, entry-level contract. The announcement was made by Devils' Executive Vice President/General Manager Ray Shero.

The 18-year- old center completed his second OHL season with Mississauga in 2015-16, scoring a career-high 21 goals and 40 assists for 61 points and 71 penalty minutes in 57 games.
McLeod added three goals (nine points) and six penalty minutes in seven OHL Playoff contests. He won a Gold Medal playing for Canada at the 2015 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament and skated in the CHL Top Prospects Game. In his rookie OHL season, McLeod scored 12 goals and 17 assists for 29 points and 33 penalty minutes in 63 games.
The right-shooting forward most recently attended New Jersey Devils Training camp. On October 1, the 6-2, 185lb. native of Mississauga, Ont., was assigned to the Steelheads by New Jersey. He scored one goal in two preseason games and also played for the Devils at this year's Prospects Challenge in Buffalo, NY.
