Arlington, Va. – The Washington Capitals and Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month from Sept. 15-Oct. 15 with a series of special activations.

This season’s initiatives are highlighted by Hispanic Heritage Night at Capital One Arena on Wednesday, Oct. 14 vs. MTL. In conjunction with the game, the Capitals will also host an immersive career-exploration experience for Hispanic and Latino students.

Hispanic Heritage Night at Capital One Arena

The Capitals will host Hispanic Heritage Night at Capital One Arena on Wednesday, Oct. 14, when the team hosts the Montreal Canadiens.

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, in-game content and programming during Hispanic Heritage Night will include a Spanish starting lineup, hype moments in Spanish, Latino music and more.

Jenny “the Voice” Hernandez will serve as a special Hispanic Heritage Night guest host. Hernandez, known as “Jenny The Voice,” is a Guatemalan content creator, influencer and former Spanish-language radio personality based in the Washington, D.C., area. Through her bilingual digital platforms, she connects with a community of more than 1.3 million followers by creating engaging content focused on technology, family, lifestyle, and Latino culture. She is passionate about using her voice to inform, entertain, and celebrate the Hispanic community.

Fans who wish to purchase tickets to the game can do so via this special link. All tickets purchased through the link will receive a Hispanic Heritage long sleeve shirt.

In addition, the Capitals social media accounts will feature graphics translated into Spanish.

Beyond the Game: The Business of Sports

The Capitals will welcome students from Columbia Heights Education Campus’ (CHEC) Academy of Hospitality and Tourism for an immersive career-exploration experience. Students will visit the offices of the Capitals and Monumental Sports & Entertainment at the Lofts and Capital One Arena for a behind-the-scenes tour of the venue and sessions that explore the many career paths in professional sports. The experience entails career exposure, mentorship, hands-on learning and a live game experience, with the students attending the Hispanic Heritage Night game that evening.

Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation Donation

In conjunction with the Beyond the Game: The Business of Sports programming, Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation is providing a $10,000 donation to DC Public Schools and CHEC’s Academy of Hospitality and Tourism in support of their sports programs.

The academy prepares students to excel in their post-secondary pursuits and compete in the global workforce. The academy is part of a national movement where scholars can learn, achieve and advance as professionals along a chosen career path. For more information, click here.

Hispanic Heritage Capitals Logo

Local artist Josue Martinez, born in Corinto, El Salvador, designed a Hispanic Heritage Capitals logo that debuted during the 2025-26 Capitals season and will be used by the organization throughout the month. Designed to honor diverse Hispanic cultures while integrating elements unique to the Capitals and the sport of hockey, Capitals fans will see the logo in arena, on digital media and on retail merchandise. Some of the logo’s key elements include the alebrije, sun, mal de ojo, marigold flowers and corazones unidos.
