Hometown Remix is the NHL and Fanatics’ new special-edition uniform and apparel program, uniquely and authentically celebrating the fans, city and local culture that make each team’s home special. For the Capitals, Hometown Remix is Built in D.C.—a tribute to the neighborhoods, energy and unmistakable threads that connect our city and unite us as one team.

The Hometown Remix jersey draws inspiration from the bold, unmistakable look of the Capitals late 90's era. Remixed through a distinctly DC lens. It’s an ode to the city that helped build the team and pride that exists across the DMV.

  • Front crest: The Capital Dome - Stars, sticks, and statues.
  • Sleeves: Marble texturing inspired by Washington DC monuments.
  • Hem: Cherry blossoms and the DMV
  • Numbers: Beveled tonal embroidery, like monument etchings.

BEHIND THE BRAND

The Capitals’ Hometown Remix creative draws inspiration from the Washington region’s natural beauty and iconic architecture. This includes skating on the frozen C&O Canal to the scenery of Great Falls to gradient skies and the rich textures of the city’s monuments. A palette of layered blues, rotunda bronze and frost grey brings these influences together. Signature design elements include the Capitol Dome compass stone, rotunda-inspired typography, water and marble textures, aerial imagery and illustrated landmarks from across the District.

Hometown Hero Contest

The Hometown Remix jerseys have hit the ice, an ode to the city that helped build the team and the community. Now we are looking for a Hometown Hero who deserves the spotlight.

Know a teacher, first responder, coach, neighbor, or someone who has made a BIG impact? Nominate them for the Capitals Hometown Hero Contest.

One winner will be recognized with a ceremonial puck drop at a Capitals home game, four tickets for friends and family, and a Hometown Remix jersey.

Retail Information

There will be a retail drop on November 2nd related to the unveiling, with merchandise available for purchase at the Capital One Arena, MedStar Capitals Iceplex and online team stores. 

Capital One Arena Team Store Hours:
Tuesday - Saturday: 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Sunday & Monday: Closed * 
*If there is a game on Saturday, Sunday or Monday, the team store will open two hours prior to the start of the event.

MedStar Capitals Iceplex Team Store Hours:

Mon-Sat 9 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Sun 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
