Marino

In this series, we take a look back at different Mammoth players and their performances during the 2024-25 season

The 2024-25 campaign was defenseman John Marino’s first season in Utah. Let’s take a look back at his first year out west!

On the Ice

It was a shorter season than usual for John Marino who had lower-back surgery and missed the first three and a half months of the season. However, Marino made his Utah debut on Jan. 14 and didn’t look back.

In his third game of the year, Marino had a huge block to keep St. Louis from scoring on an empty net. Utah went on to beat St. Louis 4-2, and that was a key moment in the win.

Marino played 35 games in the 2024-25 season for Utah. He scored one goal and had 13 assists for 14 points. He set a new career-high in time on ice per game at 21:10. Marino brought consistency to the blueline and used his experience to be a reliable defenseman for Utah.

Strong First Impression

When it was time for John Marino to make his Utah debut, he was able to do so on home ice. It was the defenseman’s first chance to experience Utah and the passionate fanbase. Following the game, he reflected on his first game at Delta Center.

Side Quest Kings

While out with his injury, Marino and fellow defenseman Sean Durzi became the side quest kings. From holiday events to coffee shops, the guys did it all!
