Utah Hockey Club currently owns the sixth overall draft selection in the 2024 Upper Deck NHL Draft, which begins on Friday, June 28 at Sphere in Las Vegas, Nevada and will be televised on ESPN at 5 p.m. M.T. Rounds 2-7 will take place on Saturday, June 29, starting at 9:30 a.m. M.T. on NHL Network and ESPN+.
Utah is slated to draft 13 times, which would be the most of any team in this season’s draft. General Manager Bill Armstrong made 12 selections in last year’s NHL Draft, and the franchise currently owns 34 total picks in the next three drafts, with 20 of those selections in the first three rounds.
The following is a complete list of the NHL Draft choices that Utah Hockey Club currently own:
1st Round: 1 Draft choice (6th overall)
2nd Round: 3 Draft choices (38th, 49th, 65th overall)
3rd Round: 3 Draft choices (71st, 89th & 96th overall)
4th Round: 2 Draft choices (98th & 103rd overall)
5th Round: 1 Draft choice: (135th overall)
6th round: 2 Draft choices (167th & 190th overall)
7th round: 1 Draft choice (199th overall)
- The 49th overall pick was acquired from Ottawa along with a 2023 first round draft choice (Daniil But) and a 2026 second round draft choice in exchange for defenseman Jakob Chychrun
- The 65th overall pick was acquired from Florida along with defensemen Anton Stralman and Vladislav Kolyachonok in exchange for a 2023 seventh round draft choice
- The 89th overall pick was acquired from Colorado along with a 2022 first round draft choice (Reid Schaefer) and defenseman Conor Timmins in exchange for goaltender Darcy Kuemper
- The 96th overall pick was acquired from Edmonton along with a 2022 first round draft choice (Maverick Lamoureux), a 2025 second round draft choice and forward Zack Kassian in exchange for a 2022 first round draft choice (Reid Schaefer)
- The 98th overall pick was acquired from San Jose in exchange for forward Lane Pederson
- The 190th overall pick was acquired from Nashville in exchange for forward Jason Zucker
On Friday, June 28, fans are invited to Delta Center to experience the first-ever Utah NHL Draft Party. Doors will open at 4 P.M., and the free-to-attend event will last through the first round of the NHL Draft, which will conclude around 7 P.M. M.T. The Team Store and limited food and beverage vendors will be open for purchases, and free parking will be available at Park Place located directly across from the arena’s main entrance. Fans attending the NHLDraft event will enter Delta Center through Door 5. The arena’s standard no bag policy will be in effect.
