Before bringing his physical presence to the NHL Sabourin spent the previous seven seasons in the American Hockey League, playing for affiliates of the Los Angeles Kings, Minnesota Wild, Anaheim Ducks and Calgary Flames. Prior to turning pro, the Orleans, Ontario native played four seasons (2009-2013) with the Oshawa Generals in the Ontario Hockey League.
