Are you ready for the 17th Annual Bolt Run?


The Lightning Foundation and the Tampa Bay Lightning are excited to announce that Bolt Run will be moving to the fall! Please join us for the 17th Annual Florida Hospital Bolt Run, presented by Dasani, on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017 at AMALIE Arena.

This year's race will once again consist of a 5K, 5-Mile, and 1-Mile Family Fun Run. The event will span the entire morning and feature family-friendly activities on Ford Thunder Alley.

Each Registered Participant Will Receive:

  • A FREE ticket to one Tampa Bay Lightning Game* (options listed below)
  • A finisher's medal - All races
  • A commemorative Bolt Run T-shirt** (gender specific)
  • Pre/post-race activities with food & beverages on Ford Thunder Alley

A portion of each registration will be donated to both the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the March of Dimes via the Lightning Foundation.

*Tickets are first come, first serve and while supplies last. Game dates subject to availability.

** T-shirt sizes will be guaranteed to all participants who pre-register before Sept. 27, 2017.

Entry Fees

  • 5-Mile Race- $60
  • 5K Race - $60
  • 1-Mile Family Fun Run - $45
  • Virtual Race - $45 (no ticket included; packets can only be shipped within the United States)

Please note: Prices may increase the week of the race.

Online registration will close on Oct. 19 at 10 a.m. ET.

On-site registration will be held during packet pick-up on Oct. 19 and the morning of the race from 5:30 a.m. to 7 a.m.

Lightning Tickets

Included in your race registration is a game ticket. Participants can choose to receive one (1) ticket to one of the following Lightning games:

  • Saturday, Oct. 21 vs. Pittsburgh Penguins at 7 p.m. (limited availability)
  • Thursday, Oct. 26 vs. Detroit Red Wings at 7:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, Oct. 28 vs. Anaheim Ducks at 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, Nov. 4 vs. Columbus Blue Jackets at 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, Nov. 18 vs. New York Islanders at 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, Dec. 2 vs. San Jose Sharks at 7 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Dec. 5 vs. New York Islanders at 7:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, Dec. 7 vs. Colorado Avalanche at 7:30 p.m.

Participants will also have the opportunity to purchase additional tickets to their designated game by contacting Ben Salo at based on availability. 

Event T-shirts

Special 17th Annual Bolt Run T-shirts sizes will be guaranteed to all participants who pre-register before Sept. 27, 2017.

Race Awards

All participants will receive a finisher's medal. Additionally, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers in 5-year age ranges in the 5K and 5-Mile races will receive special awards.

Event Start Times

  • 5:30 a.m. - 7:00 a.m. - Day of Race Packet pick-ups / Day of Race registration
  • 7:25 a.m. - Hand-cyclists/Adaptive runners
  • 7:30 a.m. - 5M & 5K runners
  • 7:35 a.m. - 5M & 5K walkers/strollers/ADA
  • 7:45 a.m. - 1-Mile Family Fun Run/Walk
  • 8:30 a.m. - Award Show

Packet Pick-Up Times

Packet pick up is on October 19 from 11am - 7 pm in the Tampa Bay Sports Store at international plaza mall. The store is located on the 2nd floor across from the Apple Store. Parking is free of charge and the closest lots would be F or E (near Dillard's).

Refund Policy

There are no refunds, transfers or credits for this race. This event will be held rain, shine or snow.

Registrants cannot change race event once they have completed registration.

Meet Our Charity Partners

We are excited to share that the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and March of Dimes are once again returning as Bolt Run beneficiaries and will be serving as volunteers at the water stops on the Bolt Run course!

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society exists to find cures and ensure access to treatments for blood cancer patients. They are the voice for all blood cancer patients and work to ensure access to treatments for all blood cancer patients.  

The March of Dimes is the leading nonprofit organization for pregnancy and baby health. For more than 75 years, moms and babies have benefited from March of Dimes research, education, vaccines, and breakthroughs.
