The Sound Tigers dropped a pair of game last week, Shane Prince reports for conditioning

The Bridgeport Sound Tigers (12-10-1-1), proud AHL affiliate of the New York Islanders, came up short in a pair of contests against the Springfield Thunderbirds (10-17-1-0) and Rochester Americans (14-5-3-3) last weekend. Steve Bernier and Devon Toews each scored once and added an assist, while Tanner Fritz and Casey Bailey also found the back of the net. Bridgeport currently sits fifth in the Atlantic Division standings 24 games into its 2017-18 campaign.

Golyshev's goals, Sorokin's shutouts lead Isles prospect report

SOROKIN RECORDS TWO STRAIGHT SHUTOUTS: 

Ilya Sorokin has started December with two straight shutouts, keeping a clean sheet for CSKA Moscow. Sorokin made 19 saves against Amur on Friday, backstopping CSKA to a 4-0 win. Sorokin defended his goal again on Sunday, stopping all 20 shots for a 2-0 win over Severstal.

The Bridgeport Report: Week 9

The Sound Tigers went 1-1-1 to start December

Tanner Fritz scored three times and added a trio of assists last weekend to lead the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (12-8-1-1), proud AHL affiliate of the New York Islanders, to a 1-1-1 record through their first three games of December.

The Sound Tigers split a home-and-home series against the Utica Comets on Friday and Saturday, before falling to the Providence Bruins on Sunday afternoon at Webster Bank Arena. Bridgeport currently ranks fifth in the extremely tight Atlantic Division, which sees its top six teams all separated by just four points.

Sound Tigers roll to six-game point streak entering their second straight three-game series this weekend

The Bridgeport Sound Tigers (11-7-1-0), proud AHL affiliate of the New York Islanders, secured five of six possible points last weekend in a three-game series against the Hartford Wolf Pack, Lehigh Valley Phantoms and Hershey Bears. That success lifted the team to fourth place in the Atlantic Division as the Sound Tigers reached the quarter mark of the 2017-18 campaign.
 
Bridgeport is riding a season-high six-game point streak (5-0-1-0) heading into another 3-in-3 this weekend against the Utica Comets and Providence Bruins. It's the first time the Sound Tigers have recorded points in six straight games since the team won seven in a row from Feb. 3 through Feb. 19 of last season.

The Bridgeport Report: Week 7

The Sound Tigers have won three straight games

The Bridgeport Sound Tigers (9-7-0-0), proud AHL affiliate of the New York Islanders, won each of their three games last week and will go for their fourth straight victory this Friday against the Hartford Wolf Pack. Second-year defenseman Devon Toews scored in all three contests (four goals total) as Bridgeport defeated a trio of Atlantic Division opponents.

On Friday, the Sound Tigers went beyond regulation for the first time this season and edged the Wolf Pack in overtime, 2-1, at the XL Center. Toews scored both goals for Bridgeport, including the game-winning tally with just 3.4 seconds left in overtime, and Christopher Gibson backstopped the effort with a season-best 35 saves.

Cockerill scores first collegiate goal, Sorokin gets fourth shutout

Boston University's (BU) Logan Cockerill recorded his first four collegiate points - including his first two goals - in a pair of games against the University of Maine over the weekend.

The Bridgeport Report: Week 6

The Sound Tigers dropped both of their games last week

The Bridgeport Sound Tigers (6-7-0-0), proud AHL affiliate of the New York Islanders, fired 88 shots in just two games last week, but fell short in a pair of losses to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms (9-4-0-2) and Hartford Wolf Pack (6-7-1-1).

The Sound Tigers hosted their first of two school-day games on Wednesday morning against Lehigh Valley and suffered a 4-2 setback, despite scoring twice on 19 shots in the opening frame. The loss snapped Bridgeport's three-game win streak in front of 8,008 fans at Webster Bank Arena. Sebastian Aho stayed red hot with his sixth goal of the season and fifth in four games, while Steve Bernier also scored a power-play tally in the first 20 minutes. Kristers Gudlevskis made 23 saves for the Sound Tigers.
