Many young children across Long Island have experienced a hardship in their lives. Despite life's struggles, these kids have overcome obstacles to get where they are today. The "Courier of Courage" program acknowledges these children for the battles they've faced and the hardships they've overcome. Behind the funding of CNBC's Joe Terranova, the "Courier of Courage" will be invited down to an Islanders practice for a special experience and will also be invited to a 2015-2016 Islanders home game.
The Islanders are looking for children, age 8-12, who have overcome a hardship, disability or illness, and are continuing to love the sport of hockey. All submissions should be of children within the tri-state area.
The submission should include the following:
Name of child
Age of child
Town where child is living
The hardship, disability or illness that was overcome
Parent/guardian name and contact information (phone number/email)
