Little Smiles is a volunteer driven, nonprofit children’s charity that helps heal hearts and create little smiles by providing gifts and fun activities for children impacted by serious illness, tragedy and trauma. Flyers Charities is partnering with Little Smiles to support their Family and Individual Support Programs to assist children and families undergoing treatment through Family Game Nights, special requests, and more.
Ed Snider Youth Hockey & Education is a nationally acclaimed nonprofit that uses the sport of hockey to educate and empower under-resourced youth of Philadelphia to prosper in the game of life. Flyers Charities supported the building of a multi-purpose outdoor street hockey rink outside the Joseph Scanlon Recreation Center in the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia. The rink was offically opened in May 2023 and the Flyers support of Snider Hockey is continuing on with new projects to be announced.
The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) Cancer Center’s mission is to provide the most skilled, compassionate, and family-centered care for childhood cancer. Flyers Charities is partnering with Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia to support their Milestones Program, which celebrates important moments during and following cancer treatment.
Flyers Charities is partnering with the Abramson Cancer Center at Penn Medicine to launch of the Flyers Against Prostate Cancer initiative. Funding from Flyers Charities will support five prostate cancer screening events in the community and the development of a co-branded educational video as part of the initiative. Five walk/drive-through clinics will be set up at local sites in the Philadelphia region, with a focus on reaching communities who have the highest mortality rates from prostate cancer. Eligible participants will undergo a PSA (prostate-specific antigen) blood draw, and a patient navigator will inform participants of the results and provide navigation to further diagnostic testing if needed.
As the nation's largest provider of donated blood and blood products, the American Red Cross has a unique and vital impact on the lives of those with cancer. In Southeastern Pennsylvania, the National Molecular Laboratory and Immunohematology Laboratory perform cutting edge testing, typing, and matching of blood products critical to cancer treatment. Flyers Charities is partnering with American Red Cross Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter to support their Blood Saves Lives program to help provide blood collection, processing, and distribution services to maintain a robust blood supply in Southeastern Pennsylvania.
