The Al Hamilton Scholarship is awarded annually to a student from the Northern Alberta area for excellence in academics, athletics, and community service. One scholarship is available each year to two students entering their first year of post-secondary education. 

The value of each scholarship is $2,000 per school year to a maximum of four (4) years, equating to $8,000.

Candidates must:

• Demonstrate outstanding academic achievement.
• Demonstrate achievement in organized sports at a competitive level.
• Demonstrate community leadership and involvement.

Candidates must also be residents of Alberta who are applying to an accredited post-secondary institution or vocational technical school in Canada.

Candidates must include their most recent transcript, a short, 500-word essay on why they believe they deserve the Al Hamilton Scholarship Award, and a letter of recommendation outlining the candidate's athletic achievements and/or community involvement. Candidates may also include one additional personal reference letter.
