Vancouver, B.C. – Vancouver, get ready to celebrate! The Canucks are bringing the Festival of Lights to Rogers Arena on November 3 as they take on the Anaheim Ducks at 7:00pm for the team’s 10th annual Diwali Night. Marking a decade of celebration, this year’s event highlights the importance of creating space to recognize and share South Asian culture and traditions with the Canucks community.

“For 10 years, Diwali Night has brought the Festival of Lights to Rogers Arena, creating a space for our community to come together and celebrate the rich culture and traditions that make Vancouver such a vibrant city,” said Michael Doyle, President, Canucks Sports & Entertainment. “This milestone reflects the many voices and experiences that make up Canucks Nation, and we’re proud to celebrate alongside our South Asian fans and families who have made Diwali Night such a meaningful tradition over the years.”

Over the years, Canucks Diwali Night has celebrated the creativity and cultural heritage of South Asian artists through a series of custom logos inspired by the Festival of Lights. The tradition has featured the work of Jag Nagra (2021.22), Sandeep Johal (2022.23), Jessie Sohpaul (2023.24), Keerat Kaur (2024.25) and Suki Kaur (2025.26), each bringing a unique artistic perspective to this special celebration.

For the 2026.27 season, Vancouver-based artist Arpan Panglia adds a new chapter to this legacy with a vibrant design inspired by the traditions and symbolism of Diwali. The logo features divas (small clay lamps) representing strength, hope and resilience, alongside hand sparklers that evoke the bright moments, and lasting memories shared during the festivities. Twinkle lights symbolize the spirit of welcome and togetherness, while curved flower petals draw inspiration from rangoli, traditional decorative art associated with positivity, prosperity and joy.

Fans can take home a piece of the celebration with exclusive merchandise featuring the 2026.27 Diwali logo, available at the Canucks Team Store and online at Vanbase.ca.

The festivities will extend throughout Rogers Arena and RBC Landing, where fans can immerse themselves in the sights, sounds and flavours of Diwali. About Diwali
Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, is an important religious celebration for Hindus, Jains, and Sikhs (Bandi Chhor Divas). During this time, houses are decorated with divas (candles), deepavali (lamps), and Rangoli artwork (patterns on the ground created by coloured powder or rice). Originating in India, Diwali is commemorated worldwide and is one of the most popular festivals in the South Asian calendar. Diwali fosters a strong sense of unity as communities share food and gifts among friends, family, and those in need. Firework displays illuminate the skies to symbolize light triumphing over darkness. The word Diwali means "row of lighted lamps" with light symbolizing good over evil, prosperity over poverty, and knowledge over ignorance.
