VANCOUVER FRANCHISE SIGNS GOALIE AARON BOLD

Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver's National Lacrosse League's General Manager Dan Richardson announced today the signing of goaltender Aaron Bold to a one-year contract.

"We are very pleased to obtain the rights of UFA Aaron Bold," said General Manager Dan Richardson. "He has proven he can win championships at every level of lacrosse he's played at. To obtain arguably one of the top three goalies in the NLL is a great thing for our organization, for our players, our support staff and most of all our fans."

"I'm very honoured to join the Vancouver franchise," said goaltender Aaron Bold. "Dan's vision for the organization is inspiring and I can't wait to be a part of the journey to bring back a winning culture to this team."

Bold, 33, spent the 2017.18 season with the New England Black Wolves, posting a record of 9-8-0, 712 saves, and a save percentage of .775 in 18 games. He also appeared in one playoff game, making 39 saves in 2018.

Over the course of his 14-year, NLL career, Bold has posted a record of 80-47-0, a 10.277 goals against average and a save percentage of .713 in 197 games. The 6'2", 205 lbs goalie helped the Saskatchewan Rush win back to back Champions Cups in the 2014.15 and 2015.16 seasons.

The Victoria, BC native was drafted in the third round (29th overall) of the 2005 National Lacrosse League by the Portland Lumberjax.

2018.19 NATIONAL LACROSSE LEAGUE SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED

… The Vancouver Franchise's first season begins at home against the Toronto Rock on Saturday, December 8th

Vancouver, B.C. (September 6th, 2018) - The Vancouver Franchise announced today their schedule for the 2018.19 NLL season, commencing at home against the Toronto Rock on Saturday, December 8th.

Their introductory season into the National Lacrosse League, the Vancouver Franchise will launch their first of 16 games beginning at home on Saturday, December 8th and concluding on Saturday, April 20th 2019 in Rochester.

Home Schedule Highlights

  • Beginning in 2019, the 2015 Champion's Cup victors Saskatchewan Rush will play against the Vancouver Franchise at Rogers Arena on January 12th and February 16th
  • Playing their first season in the NLL, the San Diego Seals will visit Vancouver on January 19th
  • Coming back from a three-year break, the Philadelphia Wings will play against the Vancouver Franchise at Rogers Arena. This will conclude the Vancouver Franchise's final home game on April 14th

Ticket Information for the Vancouver Franchise's first season will be released at a later date.

NLL ANNOUNCES COMBINE AT LANGLEY EVENTS CENTRE

Vancouver, B.C. (August 21, 2018) - The National Lacrosse League will hold a combine at the Langley Events Centre on September 8, 2018 to find the next great box lacrosse players from the Vancouver region. The combine will encompass one full day and consist of fitness and lacrosse testing, a practice run by NLL team coaching staffs, a game played by NLL Rules, and the opportunity for teams to meet with potential draftees and free agents. Top professional lacrosse coaches and scouts will attend each of the five combines along with select college and top club coaches. VANCOUVER'S NLL TEAM ANNOUNCES NEW LACROSSE OPERATIONS ROLES

Vancouver, B.C. (July 12th 2018) - Vancouver's new National Lacrosse League team added more British Columbia talent to its management and coaching staff today. Ken Thomas has been appointed Assistant General Manager, Rory MacDade and Clayton Richardson have been named Assistant Coaches and Dan Perreault Assistant Video Coach. The new lacrosse management and coaching staffs are now complete with the previous appointments of Dan Richardson as General Manager and Chris Gill as Head Coach.

"I am excited to have such a strong leadership group with deep roots in the local lacrosse community and with decades of coaching and management experience at the highest levels," said Dan Richardson. "With the appointment of Ken, Rory, Clayton and Dan to our staff, Chris and I are confident that our newly assembled team will bring the great lacrosse fans of Vancouver an entertaining team they can be proud of."

Thomas joins the new Vancouver franchise after having previously served as Assistant General Manager with the New Westminster Sr Salmonbellies under Dan Richardson. A member of the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame, Thomas had a decorated playing career that included a Mann Cup in 2001 and a top ten finish in WLA scoring in five seasons.

MacDade joins the new Vancouver franchise from the New Westminster Sr Salmonbellies where he served as Head Coach in 2018. He was also a member of the Minnesota Swarm coaching staff in 2015 and coached the Burnaby Lakers for another four seasons. In his new role, MacDade will be responsible for the team's offensive schemes.

Richardson joins the new Vancouver franchise after having served as Assistant General Manager and defensive coach of the Stealth for three seasons (2014-16). He helped the New Westminster Salmonbellies capture the WLA Championship four times as a player and also appeared in four Mann Cup Championships. In his new role, Richardson will be responsible for the team's defensive schemes.

In addition to their coaching responsibilities, both Richardson and Head Coach Chris Gill are also first responders in the City of Vancouver as Richardson is a member of the Vancouver Police while Gill is a member of the Vancouver Fire department.

Perreault joins the new Vancouver franchise as Assistant Video Coach. He previously served as Head Coach of the Stealth from 2014 to 2016 and was an Assistant Coach with the club for two seasons prior to that. A member of the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame, Perreault had a decorated career that included more than 500 points over 10 WLA seasons as well as two Minto Cups.

Vancouver, B.C. (June 21st 2018) - Canucks Sports & Entertainment announced today the hiring of Port Coquitlam's Dan Richardson as General Manager and Pitt Meadow's Chris Gill as Head Coach for Vancouver's National Lacrosse League team.

"It was important for us to find hometown leaders who share our values and who could build this team for both next year and many seasons to come."

"Dan has nearly 20 years experience as a lacrosse executive, while Chris is a hall-of-famer with a decorated career as a player and he is a young coach on the rise," added Stipec. "Dan and Chris have extensive experience, in-depth knowledge of our community and we believe they will thrive in their new positions."

General Manager Dan Richardson joins the new NLL team from the New Westminster Senior Salmonbellies, where he served as President & GM for the past 15 years. During his tenure, the Salmonbellies reached the Mann Cup on four occasions (2008, 2009, 2010 and 2017) and the WLA Finals four times (2006, 2007, 2011 and 2015). In 2009, Richardson won the BC Lacrosse Association's Presidents award for outstanding service. He also won the Western Lacrosse Association Executive of the year three times (2005, 2007 and 2010).

CHRIS GILL, HEAD COACH
"I'm excited for the opportunity to be coaching in my hometown," said Chris Gill. "The Aquilini family and CSE's management have laid out an exciting vision for the future, which I am very passionate about being apart of. We have some work to do and I can't wait to get started."

Head Coach Chris Gill spent last season as an Assistant Coach with the Colorado Mammoth and Head Coach of the Maple Ridge Burrards. Gill served in a coaching capacity with Colorado for four seasons, over the span of 2015 to 2018. Prior to his coaching career, Gill played professionally with Baltimore, Ontario, Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Colorado where he collected 354 goals and 235 assists in 186 career games and was apart of three NLL Championship teams (two with Toronto and one with Colorado). Previously, he spent 13 years in the WLA with the Burrards and Salmonbellies, recording 833 points (482-352-833) in 282 regular season and playoff games. Gill led the league in scoring on two occasions (1997 and 2000), named a WLA All-Star five time, won the Three Star Award in 1997 and named WLA MVP in 1998.

Following his accomplished career he was named to the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame, becoming a fourth generation inductee after great grandfather Robert "Les" Dickinson, grandfather Bill Dickinson and father Sohen Gill.

CANUCKS SPORTS & ENTERTAINMENT ACQUIRES NATIONAL LACROSSE LEAGUE TEAM

Vancouver, B.C. (June 18th 2018) - The National Lacrosse League announced today the approval of the sale of the Vancouver Stealth to Canucks Sports & Entertainment. Vancouver's new NLL team will commence play at Rogers Arena beginning in the 2018.19 season.

"First and foremost, I would like to thank Denise Watkins for her many years of passion and commitment at the helm of the organization, which included bringing a championship to the franchise in 2010," said NLL Commissioner Nick Sakiewicz. "This is another pivotal moment for the League and we are honoured and thrilled to have the Aquilini family and Canucks Sports & Entertainment leading our Vancouver franchise in one of the most relevant lacrosse communities in North America.

"We are very excited to welcome the National Lacrosse League to Rogers Arena," said Jeff Stipec, COO, Canucks Sports & Entertainment. "I would like to thank Denise Watkins and the Stealth staff for all they have done to establish and develop the NLL in Greater Vancouver."

Over the coming months, the Vancouver lacrosse franchise will undergo a transformation, including a new name, brand and logo. A special event will be held in the coming months to unveil more details.

The Vancouver Stealth have played at the Langley Events Centre for the past five years. The NLL 18-game regular season begins in December 2018 and runs through April 2019. Games are primarily scheduled on Friday and Saturday nights. The NLL playoffs begin in May and conclude in June with the NLL Finals.
