Jake Buchanan serves as executive chef for Delaware North Sportservice at Nationwide Arena, home of the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets. Buchanan brings more than a decade of culinary experience at high-profile sports venues and restaurants across the country.
At Nationwide Arena, Buchanan manages the arena's significant culinary operations, including its kitchens, broad spectrum of full-service restaurants and clubs, premium and event suite service, special event catering and extensive concessions. He develops and continuously enhances menus and manages the vast and complex ordering of thousands of pounds of produce, meat, poultry, seafood and hundreds of other foods and ingredients.
Buchanan comes to Nationwide Arena from Qualcomm Stadium and Petco Park in San Diego, where he served as sous chef at the NFL and MLB venues. While at Petco Park, his Sportservice team cultivated a food and beverage program that helped the home of the San Diego Padres earn the distinction of best MLB ballpark by USA Today.
Buchanan initially joined Sportservice in 2011, when he served as a chef at TD Garden in Boston for four years. His wide-ranging duties included overseeing a culinary operations for the in-arena Banners restaurant, as well as food production and execution of catered events for up to 5,000 people.
Prior to joining Delaware North Sportservice, Buchanan was a chef at Rustic Kitchen in Boston, where he was tasked with menu creation and overseeing kitchen operations for the multimillion dollar banquet facility and restaurant. He began his culinary career as a sous chef at another Boston-area restaurant, Brasserie Jo at The Colonnade Hotel.
