CHI@DAL: Stars honor Cogliano for 1,000 NHL games

DALLAS --Andrew Cogliano formally celebrated his 1,000-game milestone on Sunday afternoon, receiving a Rolex watch, engraved Tiffany crystal and silver stick during a special pregame ceremony.
But one member of the family may have stolen the whole show: Cogliano's chocolate Labrador, Charlie.

Charlie joined Cogliano, his wife, Allie, daughter, Lottie, and parents, Carmen and Teri, on the ice as the veteran forward was recognized with a special video board tribute and gifts before the Dallas Stars took on the Chicago Blackhawks at American Airlines Center.

The very good boy also got some love from Tyler Seguin outside the Stars' dressing room as the team took the ice for pregame warmup.

Cogliano, who officially hit the league-recognized mark against his hometown Toronto Maple Leafs on Feb. 13, is a well-known dog lover and animal activist. Before coming to Dallas from Anaheim in
a January 2019 trade
, Cogliano
partnered with OC Animal Care
in Orange County for several years, helping promote animal adoption and rescue in Southern California as part of his "Cogs for Dogs" initiative.
Cogliano and Charlie were also often featured together in promotions for the charity, and were fan favorites among the Ducks faithful.
