Hunwick expected to miss 2019-20 season due to neck condition

Defenseman skated in 14 games for Sabres last season

Buffalo Sabres general manager Jason Botterill issued the following statement Wednesday in regards to Sabres defenseman Matt Hunwick:
"After further medical evaluation this offseason, we unfortunately do not expect that Matt will be physically able to play this upcoming season due to a neck condition."

The Sabres acquired Hunwick last summer in a trade with the Pittsburgh Penguins. He recorded two points in 14 games in 2018-19 after missing the first 30 games of the season due to a neck injury.
