Buffalo Sabres center Casey Mittelstadt underwent successful surgery this morning, head coach Don Granato announced Friday.
"We don't have the timetable yet from the doctors. We'll share that as soon as we do," Granato said.
Granato, however, is hopeful that Mittelstadt will be able to return to the lineup before the end of the season.

Mittelstadt sustained an injury during the third period of Buffalo's game on Tuesday and did not return.
The 23-year-old forward has been limited to just four games this season. He was injured in the season opener and missed the next 21 games. He scored in his return on December 2, but just two games later, sustained the injury in the same area that now required surgery.
The Sabres selected Mittelstadt in the first round (eighth overall) of the 2017 NHL Draft. In 159 career games, he has 62 points (28+34).
