The Buffalo Sabres have signed goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen to a two-year contract with an average annual value of $837,500, the team announced Wednesday.
Luukkonen posted a .917 save percentage in nine starts for Buffalo in 2021-22.

The 6-foot-5, 217-pound native of Espoo, Finland played 35 games for the Rochester Americans last season, going 15-14-6 with a .900 save percentage and a 3.28 goals-against average. He was named the AHL Player of the Week during a stretch in November in which he recorded his first AHL shutout.
Luukkonen, 23, was selected by the Sabres in the second round (54th overall) of the 2017 NHL Draft. In 13 career NHL games, he's 3-8-2 with a .913 save percentage and a 3.08 goals-against average.
