The Buffalo Sabres have signed defenseman Mark Pysyk to a one-year contract worth $900,000, the team announced Wednesday.
Pysyk, 29, was a first-round draft choice by the Sabres (23rd overall) in 2010. He appeared in 125 games with the team spanning four seasons from 2012 to 2016.

The 6-foot-1, right-shot defenseman spent last season with the Dallas Stars, tallying four points (3+1) in 36 games. Dallas owned a 55.7-percent share of shot attempts with Pysyk on the ice at 5-on-5, second highest among Stars defensemen.
Pysyk has amassed 92 points (25+67) in 453 career NHL games with Buffalo, Florida, and Dallas. He posted a career-high 18 points (9+9) in 58 games during the 2019-20 season, when he played both defenseman and forward for the Panthers.
