The Buffalo Sabres have signed defenseman Lawrence Pilut to a one-year, two-way contract worth $750,000, the team announced Friday.

Pilut, 26, spent two seasons with the Sabres and Rochester Americans after signing as an undrafted free agent in 2018. He tallied six points (1+5) and averaged 17:05 in 46 NHL games. He was twice selected to represent the Amerks at the AHL All-Star Game.
The Swedish defenseman has spent the past two seasons with the KHL's Traktor Chelyabinsk, scoring 39 points (7+32) in 97 contests.
