For the second week in a row, Buffalo Sabres center Tage Thompson has been named the NHL's Second Star of the Week.
In three games during the week ending December 18, the Sabres went 3-0-0 and Thompson tied for the league lead with eight points (4+4), including six (3+3) on the power play.
Two of Thompson's goals last week stood as game winners.

He posted a goal and two assists in front of family and friends during Buffalo's victory at Arizona on Saturday.

He's currently on a three-game point streak that he'll look to extend tonight when the Sabres take on the Vegas Golden Knights to close out their road trip. Pregame coverage on MSG begins at 9:30 p.m.
The 25-year-old forward has 25 goals and 49 points on the season. Only Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid (28) has more goals and only McDavid (62) and his teammate Leon Draisaitl (54) have more points. He's also tied for third in the NHL with 143 shots on net.
Thompson is on pace for 66 goals and 129 points. He had a career-high 38 goals and 68 points in 78 games last season.
