The Buffalo Sabres' home game against the New York Islanders on Monday, Dec. 27 has been postponed, the NHL announced Friday.
The league released the following statement:
"The National Hockey League announced today that its regular-season schedule will not resume prior to Tuesday, Dec. 28. The League had planned to resume its schedule on Dec. 27, but in order to allow the League an adequate opportunity to analyze League-wide testing results and to assess Clubs' readiness to play, the target date for resumption of game play will be pushed back an additional day. Teams will return to practice on Dec. 26 and it is expected that the League will provide an update on its return to play plans by the end of day on Sunday."

The Sabres had three prior games postponed: at home against Columbus on Dec. 20, at home against Colorado on Dec. 22, and at Columbus on Dec. 23.
Further information on ticketing for the postponed games will be communicated as soon as it is available.
The Sabres have not played since December 17, an overtime loss at Pittsburgh that extended the team's point streak to four games (2-0-2).
Buffalo's next scheduled home game is Wednesday, Dec. 29 against New Jersey. Tickets for that game are on sale now.
