The Sabres will have six players competing at the IIHF World Championship, which begins Friday, May 20 in Latvia and runs through Sunday, June 6.
The tournament is back after being cancelled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Finland won the most recent event in 2019.
The participating Sabres are:
Colin Miller - Canada
Arttu Ruotsalainen - Finland
J-J Peterka - Germany
Tobias Rieder - Germany
Victor Olofsson - Sweden
Tage Thompson - United States
Here is everything you need to know to follow along.

The format

Sixteen teams are broken into two groups for the preliminary round. Olofsson and Sweden will compete in Group A. The other Sabres players - on Canada, Finland, Germany, and the U.S. - will all be in Group B, promising plenty of head-to-head matchups.
The preliminary round consists of round-robin play with the top four teams from each group advancing to the quarterfinals. The tournament consists of single elimination play from that point forward.
