Craig Ramsay Head Coach The Atlanta Thrashers named Craig Ramsay the fifth head coach in franchise history on June 24, 2010. John Torchetti Associate Coach John Torchetti was hired as the Thrashers' associate coach on July 8, 2010, less than a month after he won the Stanley Cup as an assistant coach with the Chicago Blackhawks. Torchetti has a long-time working relationship with Thrashers general manager Rick Dudley -- Dudley has hired Torchetti two other times in his career and also was involved in getting Torchetti hired by the Blackhawks as an assistant coach there when Dudley served in Chicago's front office. Mike Stothers Assistant Coach The Atlanta Thrashers on Monday, July 12, 2010 named Mike Stothers as an assistant coach, joining Associate Coach John Torchetti on new coach Craig Ramsay's staff. Clint Malarchuk Goaltending Consultant The Atlanta Thrashers hired former NHL goalie Clint Malarchuk as their new goaltending consultant on Thursday, August 19, 2010. Malarchuk also has worked for the Florida Panthers and Columbus Blue Jackets. With Florida, Malarchuk helped Roberto Luongo reach his first All-Star Game in 2003-04. He also helped Steve Mason win the Calder Trophy and lead the Blue Jackets to the playoffs for the first time in franchise history in 2008-09. ...more |
