One of the most consistent performers in NHL history, Sakic embodied everything a great NHL leader should be. As captain of the Quebec Nordiques/Colorado Avalanche franchise for 17 seasons, Sakic won two Stanley Cups, a Conn Smythe in 1996 and a Hart Trophy in 2001.
