• He is committed to attending Boston College in the fall of 2013.

• In 2012-13, his third season with Waterloo, McCoshen led all United States Hockey League defensemen with a plus-35 rating and finished second overall in points (11-33--44 in 53 games), despite missing 10 games with mononucleosis. He was named to the USHL First All-Star Team.

• In 2011-12, he tallied eight goals and 12 assists during the regular season and added seven points (4-3--7) in the playoffs to help Waterloo reach the Clark Cup Finals. He was also the youngest player selected to represent the U.S. at the World Jr. A Challenge helping the team win a bronze medal.

• He competed at Shattuck-St. Mary's in 2009-10 alongside Waterloo teammate Taylor Cammarata (No. 193-ranked North American skater), recording 56 points (21-35--56) in 58 games. Shattuck-St. Mary’s has produced 49 NHL Draft selections since Joe Corvo was taken 83rd overall in 1997 – the list of alumni includes Pittsburgh’s Sidney Crosby, Minnesota’s Zach Parise and Chicago’s Jonathan Toews.
